ABOUT THE ARTIST

Stained Glass Artist “Shuichi Ogata”

1954. Born in Osaka,Japan.

1978. Graduated college,worked in an apparel company as a design planner.

1980. Upon arrival in America for his job,he came across stained glass and began his self-studies on it.

1983. Stained Atelier B.O.O. is established in Japan.

1988. The making of his original bronze lamp base is begun.Displayed his works at Nara’s Silkroad Exhibition.His personal booth is opened in Osaka’s Hankyu Department.

1991. The 1st edition of his art collection book is published. (Shuichi Ogata’s STAINED GLASS WORKS) Another exhibition is held at Ikebukuro,Tokyo.

1992. Began the making of his original stained glass at Uroboros and Bullseye,both in Oregon.Sold one of his famous stained glass lamps (The Space) to an industrial arts center.

1997.The 2nd edition of his art collection books (Shuichi Ogata’s Stained Glass World) is published at Nichibo Publishing Company.As a memory of this publishing,he opened his own exhibition in Sapporo,Sendai,Tokyo,Nagoya,Hiroshima,Takamatsu,Fukuoka and many other places in Japan.

2000. Held the 20th Anniversary since his stained glass art works began and opened his exhibition in Tokyo,Sendai,Nagoya,Osaka and many other places in Japan.

2005. Opened his display shop at Sogo Department in Osaka’s Shinsaibashi.

2006. Opened his display shop at Sogo Department in Chiba.
